Car Insurance Yugo (Car Insurance). Tank scooter problem?Tank scooter problem? I was looking at a craigslist add for mopeds. I came accross a moped for hella cheap. But it says it drives for about 100 yards then dies, then starts back up again. What could cause this? Thanks 1st guess would be a loose vacuum line between the carb and the vacuum controlled fuel valve... a very easy fix. Usually if it runs well at all, then making it stay running is going to be easy. If it's a great deal, go for it! Enough mystery to prevent me from buying it. Truthfully it could be a bunch of things but with out seeing it all I can do is guess. Here are a few possibilities. 1. The vent in the gas cap is plugged which temporarily stops gas flow, 2. the fuel filter is partially plugged which does the same thing as number 1. 3. There may be something wrong with one of the ignition components when it becomes hot. Well good luck on whatever you decide. As a mechanic myself I would not be afraid to buy it, but if you have no experience or tools it may be better to look elsewhere. Auto parts : Pipe Plugs Acura 1995 . Yugo . How to Replace Brake Rotors on a SuburbanThe Suburban has been in the GM family for many years as a large SUV. Although the vehicle has been through many generations and redesigns, replacing the brakes has remained relatively unchanged. There are slight differences between the weight ratings of the vehicle (1/2 ton, 3/4 ton, and dual rear wheel models) but the concept is similar. Replacing the rotors usually indicates a problem with the rotor. Scoring or excessive runout (warping of the rotor which results in vibrations during braking) are common reasons for replacing rotors. Difficulty:Moderately Challenging Instructions Things You'll Need Car lift (side-by style to suspend the wheels) Safety glasses 1/2 inch drive impact gun 1/2 inch drive impact socket set 1/2 inch drive impact universal swivel 1/2 inch drive ratchet Penetrating oil 10 millimeter (size) by 1.5 millimeter (thread pitch) bolts (2) Angled die grinder and coarse reconditioning discs Brake clean solvent Large straightedge screwdriver or medium pry bar Mechanic's wire Brake fluid Brake fluid siphon Tire crayon Rubber mallet Replacement rotorsHow to Replace Brake Rotors on a Suburban Step by Step : 1 Place the Suburban safely and securely onto a car lift. Before lifting, release the hood latch and remove the master cylinder cover. Remove 2/3 of the brake fluid from the master cylinder by sucking it out with a brake fluid siphon. Replace the cover. 2 Lift the Suburban to a comfortable height to work on the brakes (waist level). Remove the hub caps and then remove the lug nuts using the impact gun and a socket. Remove the wheels. 3 Remove the front wheel hub extension if applicable (dual rear wheel models). Insert the screwdriver or pry bar through the caliper port and into one of the brake rotor vents to prevent it from moving. Make a mark with a tire crayon on one of the lug studs and also on the wheel hub extension to establish the relationship between the the extension and its position on the hub. When it comes time to replace the hub extension, it is strongly suggested to put it on the hub in the same position in which it was removed. Marking the hub and the stud will ensure you are replacing it in that fashion. Remove the extension bolts with the gun and a socket and then remove the extension. Tap it with a rubber mallet if necessary to break it free from the hub. If a wheel hub extension is not present, skip this step and proceed to step 4. 4 Insert the large screwdriver or pry bar into the front open port of the caliper and pry the edge of the rotor against the caliper piston. This will compress the piston of the caliper enough to remove it from the knuckle. Pry the rotor inward slowly and as far as it will allow you to. The replacement rotor will be thicker than the existing one so more room will be necessary when you're ready to reinstall the caliper onto the new rotor. 5 Remove the caliper assembly by removing the two caliper assembly bolts with the impact gun and socket. A swivel may be required to properly seat the socket onto the caliper assembly bolts. Remove the caliper assembly and secure it with mechanic's wire to a front-end component so it does not hang by the hydraulic caliper hose. 6 Remove the rotor. If necessary, spray penetrating oil into the two threaded holes in the front hub face of the rotor. Insert the two 10x1.5 millimeter bolts into the holes and then tighten them alternately with the ratchet and a socket to draw the rotor from the hub. Remove the bolts to reuse on the other rotor if desired. 7 Clean the surface of the hub using an angled die grinder and reconditioning disc. Be sure to wear safety glasses before attempting this. Clean the face of the hub and the edges (that the replacement rotors will contact) of the hub so that they're free of burrs, rust, and corrosion build-up with the die grinder. 8 Clean off the oily residue on the replacement rotors by spraying on brake clean solvent. Install the new rotor onto the hub. If applicable, replace the wheel hub extension and bolts. 9 Replace the caliper assembly and bolts. Step by Step : 10 Replace the wheel and lug nuts. Be sure to torque the lug nuts per proper torque specifications of the particular Suburban year and model you're working on. Replace the hub cap. Step by Step : 11 Repeat steps 3 through 10 for the other rotor. Step by Step : 12 Lower the Suburban to the ground and pump the foot brake pedal to seat the pads against the new rotors. Check and add brake fluid to the master cylinder. Tips & Warnings If applicable or desired, follow the same procedure to replace rear brake rotors.
Yugo . How to Replace Mazda MPV Brake RotorsIt is always recommended to replace the brake pads when replacing the brake rotors on a Mazda MPV, however, it is not required. The surface of new brake pads "seated" against the surface of a new rotor, establishes a better relationship between the friction material of the pads and the rotors. However, if the brake pads were recently replaced and you're still experiencing some symptoms from the front brakes, replacing the rotors will most likely solve the problem. Difficulty:Moderately Challenging Instructions Things You'll Need Car lift 1/2 inch drive impact gun 1/2 inch metric impact socket set Screwdriver Large C-clamp Wire coat hanger or metal hook Metric box end wrench set Large set of channel locks Impact screwdriver Hammer Safety glasses 21mm, 80 foot pound torque stick Replacement rotors Parts cleaner unit or brake clean solvent spray Replacement pads (optional) Wire brush (optional) Brake lubricant Step by Step : 1 Put on the safety glasses. Use the car lift to lift the Mazda MPV to waist level. Remove the hub caps. 2 Remove the lug nuts from both front wheels with an impact gun and a 21mm socket. Remove the wheels. 3 Remove the two caliper slide bolts with a 17mm box end wrench if replacing the brake pads in addition to the rotors. If not, remove the two caliper anchor bolts to remove the caliper as an assembly (with pads intact to the anchor) with the impact gun and a 21mm socket. 4 Pry the caliper (or caliper assembly) off of the rotor with the screwdriver. Support the caliper to the coil spring using a metal coat hanger (bend it in the shape of a hook) or a metal hook so it does not hang from the brake hose. If you're replacing the pads, you can now remove the two caliper anchor bolts, remove the pads, and set the anchor aside. Compress the piston of the caliper (with pads in or out) using a large set of channel locks to squeeze the piston slowly into the caliper piston bore. 5 Inspect the front of the rotor hub face for retaining screws. Certain year MPVs may have a rotor retaining screw holding the rotor in place to the hub. If present, remove the retaining screws with an impact screwdriver (using a large Phillips head bit) and a hammer. 6 Remove the rotor. 7 Clean the rust prevention residue from the surface of the new rotor by placing it in a parts cleaner or spraying it with a brake clean solvent spray. 8 Replace the rotor onto the hub of the MPV and replace the retaining screws (if applicable). 9 If replacing the brake pads, clean the pad contact points of the caliper anchor with a wire brush. Clean the brake dust, rust and corrosion from the points and then apply a light coat of brake lubricant to them. This will help the pads to slide along the contact points of the anchor when compressed by the caliper piston. Replace the anchor and tighten the bolts. Insert the pads into the anchor. Place the caliper over the pads and rotor and tighten the slide bolts with a ratchet and socket. Do not use the impact gun on the slide bolts or you can strip the threads on them. If you're not replacing the pads, replace the caliper assembly and the two anchor bolts. Tighten the bolts using the impact gun and a 21mm socket. Step by Step : 10 Replace the wheel and lug nuts. Tighten the lug nuts alternately using the impact gun and a 21mm 80 foot pound torque stick. Replace the hub cap. Step by Step : 11 Repeat steps 2 to 10 for the other side. Step by Step : 12 Lower the MPV and pump the foot brake pedal to seat the pads to the rotors and restore the compressed caliper pistons. Check the master cylinder brake fluid level and adjust if necessary after you've pumped the brakes. The intake stroke Compression stroke -Exhaust valve Ignition stroke Exhaust stroke When it came to designing diesel cars, the problem was even more pressing: how to change a car with a reputation of being noisy, underpowered, and smoky into a faster, quieter, more efficient vehicle that could meet the EPA requirements. The results have been heartening indeed. A turbocharger can increase the power on a diesel car by 50 percent while lowering its fuel consumption by 20 to 25 percent! And, what's more, because the turbine itself is powered by the hot gases that normally would go out of the exhaust pipe, you don't need to provide anything extra to drive it. What a wonderful example of recycling! Yugo . How do you get a car hire customer from shoranur?
Mercedes-Benz 350SDL. * .Chapter 6: The Fuel System: The Heart and Lungs of Your Car The nitty-gritty on turbocharging If you just can't get enough of this turbocharging stuff, the following gets a bit more specific about how turbocharging works: 1. The hot exhaust gases leave the exhaust manifold in much the same manner as they usually do. But instead of going directly through the exhaust system and out of the car via the tailpipe, they first pass through a turbine, which is nothing but a fan that's set in motion by the velocity of the passing gases. 2. A shaft connects the fan to a compressor, which blows fresh, filtered air into the cylinders. (On a gasoline-powered car, it takes the fuel/air mixture supplied by the carburetor and blows it into the cylinders.) Yugo . Number of cars per person in ukraine?

The excess and used exhaust fumes pass from the turbine to the exhaust system and continue on their way to the tailpipe and out into the air in their usual manner. 4. The more load on the engine, the hotter and faster are the exhaust fumes that turn the turbine. The faster they turn it, the more air the compressor sends to the engine and the faster the engine can go. This unique way of converting exhaust gas energy into mechanical power has a nice merry-goround effect. Sounds simple, doesn't it? Well, usually the first thing an engineer learns is "The simpler, the better," or, as the Zen monks put it, "Less is more." (Ecology, engineering, and philosophy all in a couple of paragraphs! Maybe I ought to change the name of this book to Zen and the Art of Auto Maintenance.) Don't confuse turbocharging with supercharging. A supercharger is a pump that compresses the fuel/air mixture and forces it into the cylinders of a gasoline-powered car: Because superchargers are usually belt-driven by the engine instead of by exhaust gases, they use engine power to increase engine power. Because they're not fuel efficient, they generally are used only to increase the speed of "high-performance," low-efficiency vehicles. Turbocharging kits are available that you can install on conventional vehicles to increase their power and performance. However, because turbocharging places considerable stress on engines that weren't designed with turbocharging in mind, you run the risk of damaging your engine and voiding all existing warranties if you decide to boost Old Faithful with a turbo kit. So investigate the situation carefully before you go this route. Some owners have had marvelous success, and their engines have lived to tell the tale; others haven't been as lucky. Generally speaking, I would never attempt to turbocharge the original engine of an older car, nor would I tinker with anything but a ruggedly built engine in top condition. If Old Faithful is beginning to show the strain of passing years, it would be wiser to recycle the old workhorse and buy yourself a turbo-powered filly! Part II: What Makes It Go? Yugo .
